Research Based Programs (M.E.Sc. and Ph.D.)
Application Information

The two research-based graduate programs offered by our department are Master of Engineering Science (M.E.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

The University of Western Ontario mandates that all M.E.Sc. and Ph.D candidates are financially supported either by their advisors or through scholarships.

           Areas of Study:

M.Eng. students must choose two (2) of the following Non-Technical courses in addition to the required number of Core Technical Courses:

Intellectual Property for Engineers
Risk Assessment and Management in Engineering Systems
Engineering Planning and Project Management

Engineering Communications

these courses may be taken by M.E.Sc. and Ph.D. students provided space is available (maximum enrollment is 50) but cannot be counted towards M.E.Sc. and Ph.D. degree requirements

Acceptance to the M.Eng. program is competitive. Approximately 10 seats are available in each area. Please click here for application deadlines.
